🇸🇪 Melodifestivalen 2023 Host Cities and Dates Announced

The dates and host cities for the Swedish Eurovision selection, Melodifestivalen, are now known. The contest will take place in six cities and commence on February 4th.

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, Melodifestivalen was unable to tour in both 2021 and 2022.  The contest goes back on tour in 2023, with the host cities announced. The dates and the host cities are as follows:

  • Semi-Final 1: February 4 – Gothenburg
  • Semi-Final 2: Feburary 11 – Linköping
  • Semi-Final 3: Feburary 18 – Lidköping
  • Semi-Final 4: February 25 – Malmö
  • Semi-Final 5: March 4 – Örnsköldsvik
  • Final: March 11 – Stockholm

These cities were due to host the Melodifestivalen 2022 shows prior to the cancellation of the tour. The contest was then held in the Avicii Arena and the Friends Arena in Stockholm.

Ticket sales for Melodifestivalen 2023 will begin on November 1st at 10:00 CET. Any tickets for the original 2022 semi-final venues will be valid for their rescheduled 2023 dates.

Artists interested in competing are able to apply between August 26th and September 16th.

Cornelia Jakobs represented Sweden with the song ‘Hold Me Closer’, finishing in 4th place. This is Sweden’s best result since they won back in 2015.
